Mr. Lee Ka Ho, Year 4 student of Department of Journalism and Communication, has been invited to attend the conference of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) to present his proposed paper “Influence of Opinion Contexts on Opinion Expression” in the Political Communication Research Section at the IAMCR Conference held in Cartagena de Indias, Columbia.

Dr. Kaman Lee from the Department of Journalism and Communication, hosted a guest lecture titled “Characteristics of Media Industry in HK” to students from Institute for International Journalism E. W. Scripps School of Journalism, Ohio University.

The Department of Journalism and Communication of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and The Department of Communication of University of Macao co-organised a conference – “Media Ecology in the Digital Age” at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. The conference was officiated by Dr. Henry Hu, the President of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Professor Leung Tin Wai, Head of Department of Journalism and Commnication, and Professor Agnes Lam lok Fong, Head of Department of Communication, University of Macau. There were around 600 participants attending the conference.

The Department of Journalism and Communication Weekly Assembly : Title – “The Middle East Crisis”. Guest Speaker: Dr. Mehdi Fakheri, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in HK & Macau.

The Department of Journalism and Communication organised the biennial conference, titled – “The Second Conference on Ecology of Digital Media” at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. There were two sessions in the conference. In the first session, three speakers from the United States, Taiwan and Macau shared their views and observations on digital development in nowadsys’ media. In the second session, 11 veteran journalists and scholars participated in a roundtable discussion on the future development of mass media under the impacts of digitization.

香港樹仁大學新聞與傳播學系周會 : 題目 －「家庭生活中的梁啟超」，主講夏曉虹教授，北京大學中文系教授。

新聞與傳播學系舉辦 -「第三屆數碼傳媒生態研討會」，主題為「現在與未來」，在香港樹仁大學舉行。是次研討會再次匯聚兩岸三地和新加坡等地學者、資深傳媒人、業界管理層等專才，大約600人，共同探討媒介的現況和未來。香港樹仁大學學術副校長孫天倫教授為會議致開幕詞後，會議隨即展開。研討會分兩部分，分別是上午的學者主題演講和討論及下午的業界討論。參與學者主題演講的3名講者包括：台灣世新大學（Shih Hsin University）新聞傳播學院副教授李明哲博士、新加坡國立大學（National University of Singapore）傳播及新媒體學系教授 Dr. Mohan J Dutta、澳門大學（University of Macau）社會科學院助理院長林玉鳳博士。下午的業界討論，分為「網絡媒體及公關廣告」及「新聞媒體」兩部分，均由香港樹仁大學新聞與傳播學系系主任梁天偉教授與助理教授李家文博士主持。
