Abstract: In this chapter, the historical development of career education and counselling in Hong Kong is presented. Overall, there has been advancement in career services provided to school children and adolescents in Hong Kong, thanks to government policies and increased funding and resources offered to schools over the years. In spite of the development, we discuss the constraints and difficulties faced by career teachers and school counsellors in Hong Kong such as training opportunities and heavy teaching and workload shouldered by teachers and guidance personnel. In the second half of the chapter, the authors present a sample of training module which adopts a group approach to career counselling and facilitation. Implications for training of professional career facilitators are discussed and challenges faced by career teachers and counsellors are presented.
