Abstract
School harassment experiences of sexual minority/lesbian, gay, bisexual, and questioning/queer (LGBQ) students have been extensively studied in many cities of the world in the last two decades, but have rarely received attention from Hong Kong Chinese society. The infl uence of Confucianism and Christianity on sexual prejudice to sexual minorities is particularly relevant in Hong Kong where inclusive education policies and sexual diversity counsellor training are almost non-existent. Sexual minority students are not guaranteed to be supported by school counsellors with affi rmative and empowering perspectives in Hong Kong schools, where an anti-discrimination ordinance based on sexual orientation has not been enacted.
