Abstract
Learning and memory are covered in Chapter 6. In terms of learning, three clusters of theories are discussed: Classical Conditioning of Pavlov and Watson; Operant Conditioning of Thorndike and Skinner; and Cognitive Conditioning. Under memory, the concepts included are: the Three Stage Model of Memory; the memory processes of forgetting, encoding, storage, retrieval, and mnemonics; the constructive nature of memory; and the various forms of amnesia. The relationship between learning and memory is one of the central themes of this chapter.
