Abstract
The presentation will focus on a study that evaluated the parental career behavior and
cultural beliefs profiles of six Vocational Identity statuses (VI) in the Chinese context with
a sample of 739 university students. The results of the study suggested that the six VI
statuses are well differentiated in both variables. The contextual and cultural profiles
added to the understanding of VI statuses in the Chinese context in addition to their
psychosocial profiles founded earlier by the same authors. Theoretical and practice
implications of these findings will be discussed in detail.
