Abstract
Although research on procrastination is considerable, the research findings on adult
procrastination are still relative little in comparing to academic procrastination. The same
situation happens in Chinese workplace, only a few researches on procrastination under Chinese culture, especially Hong Kong. In overcoming procrastination, nowadays there are many methods such as goal setting or time management organization has been suggested by western resources. But is it applied as efficient to Chinese people? In this cross sectional study of around 200 Chinese adult are being studied, by investigating their trait procrastination, self-efficacy,life satisfaction leveltogether with big five personality model,it is predicted that for those who are high scores in conscientiousnessin big five model mediates the correlation between their procrastination and achievement motivation as well as well-being. Moderators such as age, job nature, employment status are also going to investigate to see the effect on the relationship between trait procrastination and achievement motivation. Inventory such as Generalized SelfEfficacy Scale, IPIP scale, General Procrastination Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale are being used for participant as self-report. The overall approach added us tohave better understanding on
the mechanism of series of factors behind procrastinationin Chinese adult workforce.
