Abstract
The majority of studies places much emphasis on investigating detrimental impacts on
cannabis users related to the impairment and deterioration from pathological and
physiological aspects. Regarding the adverse effects associated with cannabis use according
to previous research, legislation of cannabis usage is strict and advertisements about cannabis forbidden are omnipresent in Hong Kong and in some other countries. Treatments are mainly focused on the reduction of symptoms and the problematic use. Notwithstanding, the subjective experiences and reality of the state of stone from the cannabis users have essentially been overlooked with a lack of qualitative studies examining their true experience. Considering the lack of examination among graduated individuals with high prevalence within the ages 21 to 35, phenomenology is used to explore the experiences of tertiary graduated individuals in using cannabis through the descriptive language of the participants. Convenient with purposive sampling was used for the semi-structured interview. 10 participants were interviewed and their experiences and feelings are thoroughly illustrated and described in this study with four key themes including (1) feelings of happiness and relaxation; (2) high engagement and concentration; (3) experience of alternations; and (4) the sense of self. This study provides some new directions and implications in the future research and clinical practices.
