Abstract
This paper pointed out that there was a lot of wealth of information about Chinese characters in document of WeiJin and SouthernNorthern Dynasties. The period was also a period of surge in the number of Chinese characters. The new Chinese characters in this time are commonly used and high-frequency. Most of the new Chinese characters of the period are pictophonetics.
