Abstract
Institutional Development Scheme Ceremony cum Interdisciplinary Research Day. Objective: 1) To celebrate the establishment of the two research centres: the ‘Centre for Interdisciplinary Research’ and the ‘Centre of Interdisciplinary Research in Evidence-Based Practice’, 2) To stimulate engagement and share expertise among scholars and professional practitioners in the interdisciplinary fields. The highlight of this research day is interdisciplinary collaboration in evidence-based practice and one of our strategic research areas ‘Negotiation & Persuasion’. Speaker: Prof. Michelle LeBaron (Professor of Law and Distinguished Scholar in Residence, Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia) – Topic: Choreographies of Creativity: Mediators as Change Agents; Dr. Peter Reiner (Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia National Core for Neuroethics) – Topic: Moral Enhancement: past, present and future; Prof. Arthur Woodward (Professor Emeritus, University of California, Merced) – Topic: A Secret of Shue Yan University’s Success; Dr. Shahla Ali (Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong) – Topic: Encouragement in Mediation Practice – Individual and Collective Applications; Prof. Leung Hing Fung (Associate Professor, Department of Real Estate and Construction, The University of Hong Kong) – Topic: The Development of Evaluative Mediation in Hong Kong; Prof. Dennis Wong(Professor of Criminology & Social Work, City University of Hong Kong) – Topic: Restorative justice in Chinese Communities: Current Practices and Challenges.
