Abstract
Inter-Institutional Development Scheme (IIDS) arranged a research symposium – Discrete emotions and intimate relationships at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. The objective of this symposium is to enhance understanding and discussion on the role of emotion in intimate relationships. This initiative also aims at stimulating collaborative projects with a focus on studying:-
  1. how emotion is expressed and experienced in intimate relationships
  2. how intimate relationships shape the experience and expression of emotions
  3. cross-cultural, developmental and clinical perspectives in the study of emotions and intimate relationship
Keynote Speakers: Professor Margaret Clark, John M. Musser Professor of Psychology, Head of Trumbull College, Yale University; Professor Gerben van Kleef, Professor of Psychology, University of Amsterdam; Professor Michelle Yik, Professor of Social Science, Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Professor Chin-ming Hui, Assistant Professor, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
