The Department of Social Work, Hong Kong Shue Yan University co-organised – “Conference among Social Work Students from Mainland, Taiwan, Macau & Hong Kong 2013″ with the Hong Kong Social Workers Association. Nine students joined the Programme and stayed with 130 participants. Students could further the understanding of the social services and policies in different regions through teamwork, presentation and critical thinking

The Department of Social Work of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, The Society for the Aid and Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers and The Youth Outreach and Drug Awareness Committee of Lions Clubs District 303 co-organised a seminar – “The hidden nature of youth drug abuse”.

The Department of Social Work, and the Department of Economics and Finance co-organised – “Seminar: Hong Kong: More Business, Worse Poverty”. The guest speaker was Professor Leo Goodstadt, Adjunct professor, School of Business, University of Dublin.

The Department of Economics and Finance, and the Social Work Department jointly organised – “Economics Seminar: Poverty in Hong Kong”. Guest speaker Professor Leo F. Goodstadt (Adjunct professor in the School of Business Studies, Trinity College, University of Dublin. HKIMR Research Fellowships) delivered a speech in the seminar.
