Abstract: The present research tested the hypothesis that self-efficacy mediates the effect of ego-depletion. Two experiments which used the dualtask paradigm, with different measures of self-efficacy and selfregulation, provide converging evidence in support of this hypothesis. The present findings contribute to the existing knowledge of the psychological process underlying ego-depletion.
