Abstract: | Thirty-one expectant fathers were interviewed to examine mental health problems and associated risk factors. Findings showed that psychological distress is common and suggested high levels of masculinity, struggle between traditionalism-modernity, poor social support, marital dissatisfaction, low self-esteem and work-family conflict could be risk factors for psychological distress during transition to fatherhood. |
