Abstract: 1914年,陳鶴琴考取清華大學留學金赴美遊學五年.首三年,陳鶴琴在霍布京大學(John Hopkins University)本科畢業,1917年再赴哥倫比亞大學師範學院(Teacher’s College, Columbia University)攻讀教育碩士學位,師從著名美國教育學者克伯屈(William Heard Kilpatrick)和孟祿(Paul Monroe),與後來在中國教育有重要影響的李建勛張伯苓鄭曉滄和馬賢(Ida Belle Lewis Main)份屬同窗,奠定了陳鶴琴堅實的西方兒童教育學理論基礎.本文主要通過分析陳著兒童心理之研究和家庭教育的內容,以及比對哥倫比亞大學師範學院師生在陳氏赴美留學重要的教育學著作,以檢視近代美國兒童教育學理論對中國的整體影響.
