This study explores how uncertainty as dynamics plays when problems arise in Hong Kong society and mass media. The role of uncertainty in problem representations in media, the characteristics of the representations of problems and underlying conditions of various media-audience relationships in these problematic situations are discussed. Taking Hong Kong society as a specific social and cultural context, this research also discusses the influences of contextual factors and how contextual factors interact with representations of problems in media.en_US
