Mr. Mak Cho Kei, Year 4 student of Department of Economics and Finance, attended the UA Summit 2016 held in Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Mak is the Regional Winner in the Economics category of The Undergraduate Awards 2016. His paper ‘Associations between Happiness and Sustainability in Asian Countries’ is the highest performing paper in the Asia region in the Economics category.

Each year, Winners and Highly Commended Entrants are invited to Dublin to attend the UA Global Summit – a “Davos for students”. The UA Global Summit is a unique four-day event (November each year) during which the top students from around the world take part in discussions, workshops and events all geared towards enhancing their personal development, encouraging responsible leadership and equipping them with the knowledge they need to further themselves, their ideas and research.

The Summit is an exclusive event in that only Winners and Highly Commended Entrants can attend. The event is designed to celebrate these outstanding undergraduates from across the world, and to inspire them with speakers assembled from a diverse range of backgrounds; as diverse as the attendees themselves. The four-day conference provides the opportunity to display their winning work at UPresent, with an audience comprising their fellow Summit attendees, i.e. like-minded, ambitious young academics from an array of disciples. The UA Global Summit promotes collaboration among these future leaders, encouraging them to build lifelong professional and personal relationships.
