She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Hong Kong Baptist University. Her research interests focus on health communication, and her work has been published in communication and information science journals, such as Health Communication, Journalism Practice, Online Information Review, and Journalism and Communication. Before joining HKSYU, Jessica was a lecturer at the College of International Education at Hong Kong Baptist University and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a journalist for Shenzhen Press Group and as a journalist based in Taipei, as well as a planner in the public relations sector.
