While research on Euro-American loanwords has been growing, studies on Sinicization mechanisms and typology remain insufficiently profound, which is partly due to cognitive biases regarding the nature of Sinicization and the failure to grasp its essence. Through a review format, this article summarizes existing research achievements and limitations regarding the principles, mechanisms, and pathways of loanword Sinicization.
