With an emphasis on academic excellence, parents have higher parental rejection and become avoidant, leading to high conflicts in parent–child relationships. Mainstream interventions in Hong Kong tend to be trait- or outcome-focused, thus failing to address their interpersonal needs. Multiple family narrative therapy (MFNT) is a family-oriented approach that integrates multiple family therapy and narrative therapy to facilitate intra- and inter-familial transformation for enhancing family resilience. This study explored the effectiveness of MFNT among Chinese parents of children with ADHD. Sixty-one parents participated in a 4-week MFNT program, and their family resilience, parental rejection, and parent–child relationships were measured at pre-, post-, and 3-month follow-up. Participants showed significant increases in family resilience (p = .023) and parent–child relationships (p = .001), and a significant reduction was observed in parental rejection (p = .003). The effect lasted at 3-month follow-up. MFNT enhanced family resilience in three aspects: Family belief systems for finding alternatives to adversity, family communication processes for healing from rejection, and family organization processes for reuniting parents and children.enAttention-Deficit Hyperactive DisorderChineseFamily ResilienceMultiple Family Narrative TherapyEnhancing family resilience in Chinese families of children with ADHD through multiple family narrative therapyPeer Reviewed Journal Article10.1080/10522158.2026.2628176
