LGBTIQ elder is an “invisible” community, it is believed that they got unique challenges and living pattern that is different from other age range of LGBTIQ and heterosexual elderly. Researchers found that homosexual elderly is having less support from children and family than heterosexual elder, therefore their status of intimate relationship might matters a lot to their aging life. Hence, in this research, in-depth semi-structural interviews were conducted with four men who are homosexual. Two elderly aged above 65, and two adults aged in 40s and 20s who mostly lives in Hong Kong in their life were recruited, in order to understand their intimate lived experience, challenges and coping strategies. Narrative analysis was adopted in this research. All participants self-identified as gay in their adolescence. Younger participants expressed negative feelings in the beginning phase when they aware of their sexual orientation, while elder participants expressed neutral feeling. Cohort trend of channels in meeting partner was identified. In terms of relationships, most participants coming out to friends, classmates and colleagues, however, none of the participants would come out to family members, especially parents, don’t ask don’t tell policy. They would away from home in order to have more freedom in exploring their same-sex identity and activities. In romantic relationship, easy come easy go, all participants experienced casual sexual relationship. Younger participants tended to have monogamous relationship, while elder participants engaged in non-monogamous relationship when they were young and monogamous relationship when they were old. For aging, elderly would pass their assets to their partner through legal documentation. Elderly participants were having less worry about their aging than younger participants, and they were able to cope with their challenges in aging.
