She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Journalism and Communication, Hong Kong Shue Yan University. Her research focuses on political communication and new media with quantitative approach. Her scholarly contributions have been published in reputable SSCI journals including Communication Research, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Social Media + Society, Environmental Communication, Asian Journal of Communication, among others. Before pursuing her PhD, Jing gained extensive professional experience in the field. She worked as a reporter and editor in South China Morning Post and Bloomberg BusinessWeek in Hong Kong, followed by positions in government institutions in Beijing and Shenzhen where she played a pivotal role in managing diplomacy, global communication, branding, and public relations-related responsibilities. This diverse background provided her with valuable insights from both journalistic and institutional perspectives.
