His research lies at the intersection of game studies, film and media studies, and digital culture, with particular interests in Chinese digital games, Wuxia and martial-arts games, participatory fandom, film–game intermediality, and generative AI in the creative industries.<br> He completed his doctoral studies in Film Studies at the Academy of Film, Hong Kong Baptist University, and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Southern California. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the news and film industries, with experience in video production and film development.
