However, traditional approaches fail to recognize ID factors as fluctuating,complex,and interacting with each other and with the environment.This paper proposes a Dynamic Systems Theory ( DST) approach to ID research,and detailed elaboration is given on two major ID factors—foreign language aptitude and L2 motivation.
