With the emergence of the notion of emotional intelligence, present study aims at integrating two lines of research in an attempt to unravel the relationship between psychological contract breach and job satisfaction as well as the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention.
Meanwhile, specific focus would also be placed on the moderating effect of emotional intelligence on the relationship between the psychological contract breach and job satisfaction. The current study proposed a model that synthesized the notions of REBT, CBT and emotional intelligence, with specific focus on examining the relationship between the psychological contract breach and job satisfaction, and to examine whether different level of emotional intelligence is the moderator correlated to higher level of job satisfaction, and consequently affect the turnover intelligence of employee.
A total of 202 working adults were participated in this study. Result of this study is consistent to previous studies that psychological contract breach is found to be negative correlated to job satisfaction, and job satisfaction negatively affects employees’ turnover intention. In addition, emotional intelligence is supported as moderator on the relationship between psychological contract breach and employees’ level of job satisfaction.
