Understanding Gen Yers is one of the major concerns of HR managers in Hong Kong today. Since Gen Yers have different social life and work attitudes, they naturally have both positive and negative influences on the corporate. This paper enriches the theories and business implications of managing Gen Yers. The objective of this survey is to find out the social media usage, work attitudes and expectations of Gen Yers in Hong Kong. The survey was conducted from May 2014 to May 2016 among university students from different universities in Hong Kong and it comprises a total of 846 respondents mainly from 17 to 36 years old (Khera and Malik, 2016) who are currently attending university and/or having part-time work experience. Among those interviewed, 281 were men and 565 were women. In this research, first, the findings of the research will be shown, followed by the data analysis. Some recommendations will be suggested for managers, particularly human resource managers.enBeauty of Generation Yers: Love and Hate(Social media usage, work attitudes and expectations of Hong Kong Gen Yers)Conference Paper
