Abstract: Dyadic study with seventy-five heterosexual couples who were in their transition to parenthood found a mediation effect of both husband and wife’s forgiveness in the association between husband’s self-control and mother’s marriage satisfaction. A nuanced picture of the protective role of selfcontrol and forgiveness in preserving marriage quality is unveiled.
