Abstract: This paper aims at exploring some major components of designing a ubiquitous learning workspace for conducting creative thinking exercise in tertiary design education. Discussed areas are including how (1) ICT can create surprise to students by unpredictable information; (2) to identify obstacles to creativity in designing ubiquitous workspace; (3) to understand the role of design lecturer in workspace; and (4) to use ICT in teaching and learning creative thinking exercise. This study is not going to give any solutions or models for designing ICT assisted learning platform, but to facilitate further discussions in adopting eLearning pedagogy in tertiary design education
